L'Ile De Magie
Daycare
THE PROGRAM
We are introducing and implementing the High/Scope method. The classroom is equipped with learning centers, which invite a child's interest, stimulate his creativity and satisfy his desire to explore and discover.
Program activities are designed to promote the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and moral development of the child.
All the children have an opportunity to use our large outside playground (weather permitting) on a daily basis.
MISSION STATEMENT:
L’Ile De Magie Daycare is dedicated to providing quality child care based on an active learning approach. Our respectful and nurturing environment focuses on the developmental needs of the whole child, enabling them to develop the necessary skills for life and school.
PHILOSOPHY:
L’Ile De Magie Daycare is committed to creating a safe, warm, loving environment for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and socially at their own pace.
The philosophy of our center is to provide the children with a supportive and stimulating environment. The staff becomes an extension of the family; therefore, we strive to provide the same safety, security, love, and guidance that the children receive at home.
The physical, emotional and intellectual needs of the children are considered the first priority of the program. "Play" is a prime vehicle for learning and enjoyment. We believe children are active learners who need freedom to explore their environment and discover nature. The daily routine provides large blocks of time for the children to explore and investigate their surroundings. Our educational program provides your preschooler with a variety of learning experiences on a creative environment that follow and stimulates children's interests, fosters their curiosity, and provides opportunity for creative self-expression. Every child progresses at his or her own pace according to his/her own needs.
Our environment provides opportunities which encourage individuality and independence. Children are given as much responsibility for themselves as they can comfortably handle. Giving children freedom to make choices and decisions for themselves during the day encourages independence. They are given equal opportunity to function as a group member, to show regard for others and to share and cooperate with their peers and educators.
Each child is unique and all are respected for their differences. All children have a right to grow with a positive self-image. It is the responsibility of the staff and the parents to assist children to think well of themselves and to provide experiences that foster feelings of confidence, success, value and pride. Children are allowed to disagree with other children and adults, but they are not allowed to hurt each other or be destructive. The staff assists the children managing their behavior by teaching them the skills of "Problem Solving" and supporting them as they develop their capacity for empathy.
We welcome parent Involvement and encourage open and honest communication between the staff and parents.
We are always in a state of becoming and will continue to grow as we meet the changing needs of the children and their families.
